How to get my original documents back : URGENT

Hello People,
I had sent a mail to HSMP team requesting them to return my documents since my application is taking a hell lot of time. My documents were received on July 1, '07. To that the team replies that it takes 5-14 weeks, and unless I have a proof of urgency my documents would be withheld. Is there anything that I could do to get my documents [almost all were original true copies and very few attested photocopies] back? I am frankly running out of patience. I looked into the workpermits site and could not locate any relevant form that I could fax. Maybe I am missing something. Please help. If there exists no such form, should I approach the ministry of external affairs in India? Usually the MEA is of help in such cases.
