How to get a permit to do an internship in the Netherlands?

Post by soganag » Sat Aug 01, 2009 5:28 am

I am interested in an internship in the Netherlands that lasts 6 months. Is there a way to obtain one if I am only going for 6 months?
Is it terrible if I decide to go as a tourist (permission to be there 3 months) then come right back for the other 3 months? What are my options?

Thank you for all your help!

While we wait for confirmation of nationality I'd venture the OP needs a Dutch Work Permit.

MY gf was exactly the same position (except it was Germany) and she had to get one....

In that case, quite simple! You just have to fulfill certain conditions. Here's the link

Just follow the prompts... Good Luck!

Depends on your particular situation! (Which we don't know).
For example, are you a recent graduate who is undergoing supervised practical training?
Or maybe you're a doctor who has recently graduated from medical school and is learning medical practice in a hospital under supervision?
I'd go for 'student' if it's along the lines of the first one.
And 'work' if it's along the lines of the second.
Then look at the conditions required to apply for either one under the link I gave you, and if you can fulfill them, then you're good to go!
