How to know if i am allowed to visit uk?

Post by glock » Tue May 10, 2011 3:06 am

Hi,

I was a student in one of uk university some 9 years ago. One time i was stopped by a police for driving without an insurance. They took away my car key and asked me to walk home. Later in the evening i managed to buy an insurance and produce the cover note to the police station. I got back my key and drove off.

Some months later after graduated and leave uk, my room mate (still staying in the house i rented) emailed me about a letter asking me to go to court. Then after few weeks he emailed me again saying police knock on his door looking for me.

Problem is I was already back to my home country before even getting the first notice to attend the court. and secondly, i didnt receive a ticket or notification when i recover back my car.

Question, now after 9 years since, i am planning for a visit to uk, will i be allowed to enter?

thanks vinny, am i right to say, if the search from the umbrella comes out with a spent conviction (since unspent conviction is only elligible for those who have settle the summons or court order) then the immigration will refused my entry at the airport?
