How long can I delay getting entry clearance?

I had my HSMP approved on September 29. My understanding is that I need to apply for EC within 6 months of this date, and then enter the country within 6 months of receiving EC. Is that correct?

My employer has recently applied for a work permit for Ireland. Is it possible that I hold both of these simultaneously? I'd like to delay getting the EC until the Ireland WP has been approved, as I don't want to jeopardize that application, and Ireland is my priority.

I'd like to get both, but unsure if this is okay. My plan is to stay in Ireland for a year and then move to the UK, but I had to apply for the HSMP before I turned 28, hence the timing problem.

I'm not sure if this makes any sense, but how long can I put off applying for EC and then how long can I delay entering the country?

u need to get to UK within 3 months of getting EC..this is what i know...

i dont think u can hold both visas at a time..am not sure abt this

You can if they are for different countries.... for e.g. UK and Ireland

Apprval letter is valid until 6 months and after getting EC, you should enter UK in 3 months because your ILR clocks starts from the day you get your visa.
