How long can I stay away from UK after receiving ILR

Post by rks » Sat Jun 27, 2009 2:59 am

I have received my ILR but relocated overseas soon after.

How often and for how long do I need to visit UK to ensure my ILR remains valid.

Thanks

More than 2 years of continuous stay will invalidate your ILR however, you may reapply again and at HO's discretion, you may be re-admitted.

Actually that's not strictly true, if you transfer your residence to another country you can have your ILR taken away from you if it the IO can show that you travel here merely to "renew" your stay.
