How long to be issued with Permanent Residence Certificate?

Post by Monifé » Thu Apr 08, 2010 6:21 pm

Hi guys,

Just wondering how long does it take for the Permanent Residence Certificate (under EU Treaty Rights) to be issued?

I was under the impression it was done quite fast, but I was talking to the guy in Reception at Burgh Quay (were too late to get a ticket :( ) and he said it would take at least 4-6 weeks for them to just acknowledge your application.. thats crazy!!

I applied for it 2 weeks ago, and still havent got any acknowledgement or my original documents back including TV licence and passport.

Any advice would be much appreciated :)

Thanks Ben.

Dont think DOJ are adhering to that :(

Still havent even got an acknowledgement slip or anything.

Have you applied for it before? How long did it take?

Could be this stupid work to rule thing. Hope they hurry up though because we are waiting for that to send with an application for my partner.

I'm afraid I haven't quite lived in the state five years yet, so I'm not entitled to a permanent residence certificate. November 30th this year shall be my fifth year anniversary.

Does the EU Treaty Rights section of the DoJ have a public office in Cork? My understanding has always been that they were based only in Burgh Quay.

I wasnt aware of an EU Treaty Rights office in Cork, but even if there was, it's way to far for me to travel just to enquire on the status of my application.

Guess i'll wait til Monday and see if they post anything to me, if not, i'll head back into Burgh Quay and take a number.

Thanks guys :)

Still nothing :( No acknowledgement letter or orginal docs back.

Went into GNIB today and the guy at the reception said they dont deal with public enquiries about EU Treaty Rights :(

Funny thing is he told me to phone them, sure their phone lines have been down for few weeks now.

So it is either wait, which is really annoying not knowing when it is going to come (like i would be happy if i had a time frame) or write to them, which i guess i will do although if they havent replied me about the PRC, i'm not expecting any reply from letter.. :(

Immigration Officers:
Ringaskiddy Tel: 021 4378779

Dont know how much use they would be, but they might be able to answer your queries. From your posts, it seems that your head is melted.
