did you see the new rules on HO site ? There is a sticky column on switching. Read it.

I agree that there are some rejections for in-country also.

Yes it will be from october. It holds for workpermit holders also... The language they wrote is lawyer's. You may want to consult a lawer before applying.

go on with your application. The rule will be implemented from october so you need not consult anyone. Why pay a lawyer for nothing  . As such even after october the rule permits switching for the WP people, (presently SBS people and undergraduate won't get WP/HSMP /innovator visa). they gave only a prior notice. Will come up with detailed news in future. Its better to apply asap.

all the best with your application.

Where does it say that WP holders won't be allowed to switch to HSMP? WP and HSMP are similar visas in the "permanent" track, unlike temporary visas such as tourist, or sector based scheme.

Anyhow, I switched from WP to HSMP last year, there is absolutely no reason why not to switch ASAP as features of HSMP are basically a superset of anything WP has got to offer.

Do not delay - apply now if you qualify as soon HSMP will be much tougher!.

Ya I will apply in a week. And will try my luck ...

Looks like HO has decided to reject most of the applications.

There is no 'distinct' co-relation between going from WP to HSMP success or failure. HSMP success is based purely on the merits of your application meeting the criteria with appropriate and conclusive supporting evidence.

Hope that helps
