How newly introduced cap will affect me

Post by PRadeep Itnal » Thu Jul 01, 2010 2:19 pm

Hi ALL
I got my Tier-1 Visa in March 2010 under old rules( prior to april 6 changes). I have not travelled to UK yet, would be travelling soon i already have a job in hand. I have few queries.

1. I got married in june 2010, and planning to apply for my wife's dependent visa in august 2010, i am in sort of confusion, due to this newly introduced interim cap, by UK govt , does it applicable to Dependents as well? I went through some earlier discussions, some say it does nt applicable to dependednts and some say cap is applicable to dependents as well, please clarify me on this.

2.And as my visa is on old rules(rules prior to april 6 2010),my tier 1 visa is valid till 2013, ie for 3 years. When i plan for extension, whatever extension rules, will be there around that time frame they will be applicable, or old rules will be applicable to my extension? i m not clear on this. Please provide me some links or info on this.

sorry but you will also have to think for 2nd extention as with just 1st extention you will not qualify for ILR .....u should have entered 28 days after visa start.

this should not be the case. Dependent might be exempted from the cap. There might be law that dependent cant take up job or something like that.

If iam not wrong, you will still be considered under the old rules. But things can change. Rules can change in two years. Who knows ???

Whatever, If you want to travel - Dont worry too much man.... Just come - find a job and work for now
