I would be really grateful for some advice in relation to sponsoring my boyfriend to visit the UK for a short holiday. My boyfriend holds a Gambian passport but is currently working and is resident in Qatar.
I understand that he will need to apply for a Visitor Visa before he makes any bookings. He is in full-time employment in Qatar and will be able to provide wage slips showing that he has a regular income. The intention is also for him to book return flights but obviously we won't be able to demonstrate that at the time of making the application as these won't be booked until his visa has been confirmed. He will be staying with me at my house for the duration of his stay.
I would like to support his application and wondered what I need to provide in terms of evidence. I am considering the following:
Letter of invitation outlining where he will be staying and the nature of the visit (general sight seeing and spending time with me) - is there an official form for this or can I just put a letter together myself?
6 months bank statements (current account and savings)
Credit card statement showing availability of money
6 months of wage slips (mine and his)
Utility bills (council tax and electricity / gas)
Copy of my passport
Evidence of a recent trip I made to Qatar to visit him (flight confirmation, hotel bookings, photos etc)
Hotel booking for a trip to Qatar at Christmas
I also think that it would be worth him getting a letter from his employer stating that he is in full-time employment and that they acknowledge that he is going on a holiday and will be expected back in one months time (or whatever time frame we decide between 2-4 weeks).
Also, would he just take such evidence with him to the appointment or does this need to be ready for when he makes his application on-line?
Thank you for your help
