How Soon can I apply to extend my Tier2 Dependant visa

Please may I know if tier2 dependants can apply for visa extension 6 months before the expiry date?

The main applicant changed visa already when they moved to new employer but the dependant didn’t change their visa so that they can do it 6 months before expiry.
