How do you receive COS results?

My employer has applied for COS for October but they said they don't expect to hear anything until next Monday. the 19th. From reading this board it seems like many find out the day of the meeting- the 12th. How do your employers find out so quickly. Can I tell my employer a faster way to get the results?
