HSMP JR- Applied ILR

Post by irfsh1 » Tue Jun 14, 2011 12:08 pm

I have just applied for ILR and sent through the following documents. the only trouble is that my bank account was considerably overdrawn i.e. around £2,000. this is an arranged overdraft facility from my bank. Due to the overdrawn statement issue I have attached my friends bank statments which had very good balance around 7k. he has signed the declaration also. My salary however is quite good. Are overdrawn statements going to be a problem? If so will my friends bank statements help?

Evidence sent as in the covering letter.

• Photographs:
I have enclosed two recent photographs each of myself and my wife.

• Passports:
I have attached two of my passports i.e. one passport which is expired (contains all visas) and my renewed passport. I have also included my wife’s passport who is applying as my dependant.

• My financial evidence:
I have attached three months of pay slips and three months of NatWest bank statements for two accounts as evidence of my ability to maintain and accommodate myself and my wife without recourse to public funds. I am also attaching three months of bank statements of my friend who will provide me with regular financial support in any event where I require it.

• Evidence of Cohabitation:
I have attached more than 6 items of original correspondence addressed to myself and my wife during the past two years.

• Other documents: Highly Skilled Migrant Programme
I am employed therefore I have enclosed a combination of 58 pay slips and two months of bank statements which makes the information for all five years. Also included are P60’s for five years and a P14 for 2008 (could not trace the original) with a letter from my employer. All the above confirms my economic activity and personal earnings.

Any comments will be helpful. Thanks a lot

Your friend's money is your friend's, not yours ... until you are a joint account holder of the account.

The inclusion of your friend's bank statement - of an account in which you are not a joint account holder - may be misconstrued as evidence of dependence on others to maintain and accommodate yourself (and any dependants) in the UK.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

Yeah you are probably right may be I have made a mistake by including my friends statements. Is it worth clarifying anything to them on a letter or just wait for the outcome. I have not required to borrow anything anyway. Salary is over 50k. It was worst case scenario.
