HSMP EXTENSION - DEPENDENTS

Post by Rog » Mon Sep 27, 2004 1:57 pm

I have a slightly unique query for dependents extension. If you have obtained Entry Clearance for dependents which will expire the same time as you but if they cannot join you in the 1st year what would happen to their extension. Can u include their names in the FLR IED even if they are not in UK? In my case I kept my second child with my parents in my home country due to financial constraints of low income and high cost of living in the UK. When I file for extension I will include my spouse and 1st child who are in uk with me, but how do I get extension of my second child who I am hopeful would be able to join me next year.

well in theory you cant 'extend' his leave to remain as he has not started it. and also you will have to send your passports to the HO for stamping, and his wont have a stamp to actually show that he is in the UK and this can be problematic. i think the two choices you have are either to bring him over when you a closer to the end of your leave to remain or to reapply for a depended visa whenever you want him to join you.
