HSMP extention

Post by mexsy » Tue Apr 13, 2010 6:21 pm

Hi

Actually, I applied for HSMP in April 2007 from inside UK and granted the approval letter on 2nd April 2008. I got the entry Clearance from June 2008 to June 2011. However when I applied for entry clearance, I got Tier 1 stamp on my passport because Home Office had already implemented Tier 1 rules by that time. Now I am trying to extend my tier 1 visa next year 2011 form inside UK and I am totally confused because there is different rules of extension for different type applications, for example Tier 1 general, tier 1 with HSMP approval letter etc. Can someone tell me that in what category I will apply e.g. in Tier 1 General or tier 1 with HSMP approval letter?

Thanks you

as a general rule of thumb, the date you submitted your application is recorded by HO and that date is used to determine which rules apply to you. Clearly in your case, old rules will apply to you. date of stamp means nothing although you should explain or rather urge the caseworker to assess your application under appropriate rules.
