hsmp or extra-ordinary ability

Post by nshalaw » Mon Aug 13, 2007 9:31 pm

I am an Indian citizen in the UK on a student visa. I want to move to the US or England. Which is easier to get HSMP or extra-ordinary ability? What should it cost me?

What's extra-ordinary ability? Can you explain? (and in what field are you?)

.

HSMP is for the UK. You can work as an independent.

The equivalent for the U.S. is the H-1B visa. You need a company to sponsor you.

If you have unique skills, experience and (high-level) education, then universities, government &/or research institutes may sponsor you.

The HSMP is likely "easier" to obtain. As sakura noted, you gave us very little to go on here. Your field of study, level of education and your work experience will determine most factors.
