I have an approved HSMP valid until Nov '08, however I am now pregnant and expecting in August of this year. In terms of being able to work or earn during my ordinary maternity leave, it will be challenging and therefore could impact on my ability to prove my earnings over the 12 of 15months prior to my FLR application. I am contractor and will probably work until July and thereafter as per Ordniary Maternity Leave rights, I will probably take off for 26weeks and then return to work as per normal.
My query is firstly whether the Home Office will take into consideration the oridinary maternity leave (26 weeks) and if so, will i need to pro-rata the remaining period until my FLR renewal? (e.g 9months). Although this is very early to think of, i need to ensure I plan accordingly.
