HSMP EC Rejected - Can I go on Work Permit.

My HSMP EC got rejected and I don't want to appeal as it takes lot of time to get approval. What I heard is the High Commision does not overturn their decisions. My question is can I go on a Work Permit to UK as I am getting job offers from there ? Will my HSMP rejection would be a disadvantage to me ?

Workpermit is an application made by employer and not by individual.

If an employer in UK is offering you a job and ready to apply for your workpermit, then you can try that.

But unlike HSMP granting of workpermit is not based on fixed criteria. they will do labour market test and only if they were satisfied that there is a need of foreign workers on that field they will approve it.

Even if you get an employer and workpermit you cannot switch to any other employer unless they are ready to do a workpermit transfer

HSMP is an easier and effective route than workpermit

I am really sorry to hear that your EC didnt come thru. Could you let us know the reason for the rejection ?
