WP-HSMP.. then ?

I am working in a company from last 8 months on 5 yrs of work permit.

In the present time I am eligible for HSMP.


My questions:

1. Although my present status is work permit if I move to HSMP what will happen to my work permit status.
2. If I could not able to extend my HSMP some how after 2 yrs and I am continue working in the same company, can stay on my work permit status and after 5 yrs of time eligible for ILR.


I would be very grateful to you if solve my problem.

Your WP will be superceeded by the HSMP and it will be nullified

Work permit + HSMP will count as a total towards ILR

HSMP + Work permit will not, and they will only count the time on the work permit.

So, if you went 12 months on work permit + 24 months on HSMP, then switched back to work permit, only the final time on work permit would count towards ILR for the 5 years.

If i get HSMP, when my HSMP clock starts.. from HSMP approval or HSMP stamping..
