HSMP TO TIER 1 SHIFT NEED HELP

Post by erpfresh » Tue Aug 05, 2008 2:54 pm

Hi,

I applied for HSMP visa in Feb 2008 and got my HSMP visa for two years i.e, till march 2010.

But now I'm planning to shift to Tier 1, can I do it now, i mean this early.
Will HO consider this, coz I'm eligible (points wise).

Any Suggestions please help.

Thanks

Assuming it is allowed (switch), why would you want to do that? Because HSMP and Tier 1 are, in essence, the same immigration categories with 2 different names to it!!

As for making an extension application, I don't think UKBA will entertain an extension application *17 months* in advance!

Hi sushdmehta,

Thanks for the quick reply.

As said, I admit that both HSMP and Tier 1 both r the same categories , but due to my personal reasons I was looking for 3 more years of safe stay as I already have 2 years of previous Workpermit , which gives 5 years ... so I can apply for ILR.

Anyway thanks a lot.

One more quick question

Can I know how well in advance can one apply.

Thanks for ur post

There seems to be no written rule regarding this and different people have different opinions and different personal experiences. If you search the forum, you will find that this has been discussed many times before and there are as many different opinions.

i had the same question, and i confirmed with UIBIA.

you may apply to switch to Tier 1 (General) at any time providing that you are able to meet the criteria required. However, your new Further Leave to Remain is granted this will supersede your current leave to remain.
