I need to go bankrupt.will my citizenship be refused?

i have been in the uk for 22 years..hve ilr..i nee to go bankrupt due to undeclared tax...and my mental health...i dont have a partner or anyone to hep so i cannot pay what i owe...if i apply for uk citizenship will i be denied? i now am at a loss as of what to o with my life

Have you reviewed the "Good Character Guidance" issued by UKVI?
If not please refer to this link: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... racter.pdf
In particular note section "Financial soundness" page 38pp.
Why do you wish to apply at this time?
Would it not be better to sort out your current situation first as far as possible, bearing in mind the high application fees.

do you mean apply for my uk citizenship at another time? i dont know what to do really..its making my depression worse....i cant afford my tax debt so will need to go bankrupt

Yes.
You have ILR, you are not forced to apply for citizenship.

Yes, ILR is indefinite leave to remain, no time limit and it's not tied to your financial situation.

Unsure how you think your ILR is affected by going bankrupt.

am only asking if i haveto go bankrupt can i still stay in the uk?

Yes, you can.

ILR allows you to stay in the UK as long as you wish. Bankruptcy has no impact on your ILR status.
