IAFT-2 - Visa refused as Bank statement ws old

Post by G987 » Tue Aug 02, 2011 8:02 am

Hi

I am based in Uk for last one year and have switched from Tier2 ICT to Tier 1 (PBS). I had applied for my family under Tier 1 dependant but the account statement enclosed was more than one month old so VISA was refused and British High Commission has sent us IAFT-2 Form with a right to appeal.

I wanted to know that what usually happens in such cases - My family is planning to file for an appeal - along with the latest statement.

can anyone please help me in knowing what should be done and what is the content of letter to be sent along with the appeal.

Thanks in advance.

The last bank statement must be no longer than 4 weeks old when application is lodged.

You will need to complete the appeal form and send an updated banks statement with it and ask the ECO to review the decision in light of the new statement you have provided. there is a possibility the decision can be overturned without the need to go for full hearing.

The review decision can take up to 2 months and the full appeal hearing can take 6+ months.

Return the appeal form to the post that refused you rather than IAT in UK.

Remember you have 28 days from date you received refusal to lodge appeal

It has to be original bank statement. fax and copies will not be accepted. statement to be sent along with IAFT2 FORM in which you have to write your ground of appeals as to why the matter should be reviewed in light of attached evidence.

You must send by courier to the post that refused your application. The ground of appeals will have to be written in the space provided on appeal form or typed up and attached with appeal form.

What exactly is the wording of your refusal as per the refusal notice, before you will receive further advice on contents of your response?
