ICFN Appointments

I have applied for Tier-2 Main & also for Tier-2 dependants for two of my dependants.

Is it absolutely necessary to have the biometric done for all of us together?
I understand that UKBA does advise that one should try best to attend as a family group.

I checked with booking appointment helpline and got to know that the main applicant should have biometric done along with the dependants.

I am still not sure whether this is correct information or not.

Problem is if I book as a family group I am getting an appointment after 10 days and if I book alone then mange to get an appointment next week itself.

Was anybody in a similar situation? Need your advise.
