IGS can be self employed or not - For Tier-1 earnings

A dear one in UK under IGS which is expiring on 10 Nov 2009 and has been self employed consultant.
He wants to apply for Tier 1(General). Was self employment allowed under IGS and whether he can show earnings of that to claim points ?

yes , he can be slf employed and earning can be used for tier-1
