IGS TIME FRAME (Please help me)

Dear Board Members,

My Student visa is going to expire on 30th of october 2007, I have already applied for IGS as i am eligible for it.

Mean while

I got an offer from a company and they are offering me a very good salary and they want me to start from 16th November, 2007. I called Home office for PEO for getting their to get stamped but unfortunately they were fully booked, Workpermit.com are charging almost £1200 which i have seen after i made my application.

Now my question is what should i say to my employer where i have to start work, legally i know i cant do this as i haven't got my passport because it is under process.

Is there any chance to know how long they will take or is there any consideration if i have my employment letter with me, i mean i am kind of stuck, dont know what to do next.

One more question, what are the chances of refusal and how can i enquire about my IGS application progress.

If the application has already been made, I suggets that you fax them with details of the job offer and ask them to consider it urgently. I think this is all that can be done.

I just wanted to ask you one more thing, do you knw anything related to time scale or anything how long normally it take these days, or is there any way i can check the progress, sorry for asking so much.
