ILR and dependants

Post by aix » Tue Sep 28, 2004 9:15 am

I will shortly be applying for ILR (4 years of work permit employment/HSMP).

Now, are there any residency requirements for any of my dependants to get ILR at same time as me?

For example, would it matter if my wife didn't spend the whole of 4 years in the UK, or spent some of it in a different category (e.g. on a work permit of her own) and not as a dependant?

Thanks for any insights.

I'm not 100% sure, but I understand you as the WP and HSMP holder will get the ILR and if you have dependants, it doesn't really matter if they haven't lived in the UK all the time, if you can show they are your dependants (marriage certificate, birth certificate) then they qualify to be your dependants and they will be covered by the ILR....
again, IMHO.....

Thanks for the reply, try-one. That's my understanding too, but I thought I'd check with the omniscient board just to be sure :)

Does anyone have a different opinion on the ILR matter?
