ILR and DOB

Post by Tinriri » Fri Apr 20, 2012 2:48 pm

Hi all!
Just found this board by chance and hope u all can help, I am due for my ilr in June based on 2 grounds, spouse of a British national and having lived here for the last ten yrs.
Now I am certain I will get it( touch wood) my question is abt getting a British passport, which is usually 11 months following ilr, I was born in d uk in 83 so dat puts me just out of instant citizen reach but children born here by immigrant parents get. British passport immediate after parents ilr now this technically does not apply to me as I am no longer a child but (apologies for rambling on) has anyone ever heard of an immediate passport application following ilr success for children born after 82? I should mention I lived in the uk for 4 yrs after birth before being shipped away by my parents any help would be appreciated many thanks in advance!

you can't apply for a British passport unless you are a British citizen. If you mean can you apply for naturalisation immediately after being granted ILR, then yes if you meet the requirements as spouse of a British citizen.
