ILR application query

Post by tunde10 » Mon Jun 06, 2011 12:15 pm

Hi

I sent off an application for ILR on 16th May based on 6yrs discretionary leave. I used the SET(o) form as advised on this forum and applied under the 'other' category.

They took payment & I received acknowledgement letter a week after application. I just wanted to find out if this means my application is valid and i wont recieve a letter claiming application is incorrect.

I am just asking as i was not 100% sure about my application.

You need to appreciate when you posted to Durham, all they do there is ensure that payment has been received, and if it has then they pass the papers to a "real office" where the application will be considered.

So the fact that payment has been made means exactly that, and no more.

Okay thanks, i thought that would be the case. The application seemed straightforward to me, its just there isnt much information about applyin through discretionary leave on here.
i originally filled in the wrong application (hpdl) due to this but was luckily advised in time to submit my new one.

Is set(O) form the right form for those applying under 6 years discretionary leave to remain?

yes, that is what i have been advised on this website. If u got your discretionary leave through asylum, then the form is HPDL. it is quite confusing as there is no form for regular discretional leave so i ticked other in the set(o) form
