ilr assistance

Hi all

I am an illegal immigrant who came into the country in 1997. since my arrival in the country i ve studied up to masters level at the uni also gained some professional qualifications. I have a partner who is legally in the country with a very good job at one of the reputable companies. we both ve a child who is 18 months old. i applied for ilr in 2006 and since being updating the HO of my developement. Few days ago i got a letter from the HO requesting for doc from the time of entry to date. I can only produce doc from 2001 to date. I dont have any doc to prove that ve worked in the country because am illegally in the country and myself and my partner dont ve any doc in joint names as requested but do ve documents to prove that we ve been living together for two years. I need your advice and what are my chances of my application being successful.

On what basis did you make the ILR application?

14 years stay in the country and compassionate ground

to be honest i think it will be difficult if not impossible to get it via the 14year rule, mainly because the 14years is not up yet and wont be for another couple of years. I am not sure how the compassionate grounds work so cannot say how this improves your chances.
I think if you read on this forum there are several cases of people who applied under the 14year rule who are finding it very difficult to get approval and it also takes a long time and is usually resolved after using solicitors and mps etc.
