ILR - dependent travel

Post by harry7476 » Tue Mar 29, 2011 6:29 pm

Hi Guys,

I came in to UK on HSMP. I have a Tier 1 now.

My wife (dependent visa) has stayed outside of UK for a year even though she has a Tier 1 dependent. Will this affect me in terms of the 180 days rule while applying for ILR? I am assuming that the 180 day rule means that I can only stay up to 180 days outside UK in 5 years prior to applying for ILR. But will my wife's stay abroad affect me?

Also, if one gets ILR, do you still need to apply for visa to visit schengen countries.

Thanks

No.

Whether one requires a visa to travel to a country depends on the applicant's citizenship, not his / her settlement status in the UK. Post queries regarding Schengen visa in this forum.
