ILR documents help

Post by faraway1 » Tue Aug 18, 2009 11:07 pm

Hi all,

I am a British citizen and going to apply for my wife's ILR visa. To fulfill the visa requirement I have gathered the following documents covering the 2 year period

1- joint bank account (from march 2008 till now)
2- council tax on both our names ( I only have few bills as council didn't send me bills frequently )
3- water bill on both our names (missing a few bills covering the 2 year period)
4- electricity bills on both our names (missing a few bills covering the 2 year period)
5-tenancy agreements both our names
6 - doctor's letter on my wife name
7- bank statement on my name

My question is Do I need to get the copy of the missing bills and ask for a copy of council tax bills from the council or the original ones that I have are enough? Also is it worth sending letters form private companies e.g Tesco , Boots as additional documents in case hey are not happy with any of the above documents?

Also I am sending the following documents to show that I can financially support my wife

Bank statements (6 months)
Pay slip (6 months)
p-60 (6 months)
Employment letter from my employee

Do I need to send any other documents to prove my finances? It would be great to hear other people's view on this.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply batleykhan I have collected the letters after reading that document, its just I could not find if it would matter if the documents are not covering the whole 2 years e.g missing bill

Spread them as evenly as possible...you can also include the letters from Tesco etc...
Has your wife passed the Life in the UK test? You don't mention the certificate.

Thanks for the reply. Yes she has passed the life in UK test. I have asked my electricity suppliers to send me a copy of the bills missing.although it says on that document that they require original documents I'll attach the copy of the bills and explain it separately.

You may be worrying needlessly. You don't have to submit each one of your bills throughout the 2 years...just 6 documents from 3 different categories spread as evenly as possible throughout the 2 years.
12 if they're all in single names.
Does that help?
