ILR eligibility and required documents

Post by goto_venkat » Sun Jun 12, 2011 12:13 pm

Hi All,
I came to UK in 2006 on workpermit and at the end of 3 year period I have switched to Tier 1 Visa. Now I have completed around 5 years 3 months in UK. Can I apply for ILR now? I have been working for the same company from starting. As part of my role I have to visit client places and I have spent almost 174 days outside UK on business work. Apart from that I have been away for 192 days on personal vacation during last 5 years. (These days are calculated by finding difference between departure date and arrival date into UK. Not sure whether we can exclude the arrival date and departure dates). So all together I was away for 366 days and I was not away for 90 days in any of my trips.

Also, I am sharing accommodation with my friends and I don’t have any rental agreement on my name. But I do have some utility bills on my name. Will this have any issues for my ILR application? I have not seen any document asking to provide rental agreement or rent payments.

Can anyone of experienced members suggest me the required documents to be attached along with application? I have completed Life in UK test and I can provide any documents from employer to explain about my absence from UK during last 5 years.

I am planning apply by post by end of this month. So, it will helpful if you someone quickly respond to my query.

Regards,
Venkat
