Hello there !!!!!!

I am going to submit my ILR application in March 2010. as going to complete 2 yr Spouse visa in April 2010 I am going to apply for SET(M) as a spouse married parterner..

My concern here is

1) which documents do i need to attach with my application.

2) Out of 24 months I worked only aroiund 13 months, and was unemployment for rest of the time. Idid not claim any kind of benefit from UK govt.

I gave many interviews and have record and proof of those. Will it be any problem, if i will not have any job at the time of submission of application.

after applying my ILR, how long visa/stay i will get to live in the uk.
I am lil concerned that whether they gonna accept /decline my indefinate leave to remain in uk

as if they will give me only 1/2 year visa after finishing of my spouse visa. I will have to pay £800 again for getting ILR.

What they generally do? do they give ILR to the people on Spose visa and after 2 yrs who apply for ILR or it depends to applicant to applicant?


I will be grateful, if you will help me as soon as possible.

It does depend applicant to applicant.

See form Set(M) for the documents you need to attach - it's all there.

ILR means that - it's an indefinate leave to remain - providing you aren't out of the country for 2 years it remains permanent.

If you are out of the UK for more than 2 years - returning residents rules apply:

The key is that you and your spouse can support each other together - so yourself being unemployed isn't necessarily an issue depending on the income of your partner.

Read the SET(M) guidance carefully.

ILR means Indefinite Leave to Remain (permanent settlement, so there is no time restriction).

Have you passed the Life in the Uk test or completed an ESOL Citizens course? You won't be granted ILR without one of these.
