ILR (entry & exit stamps in passport in Islamic dates only)

Post by great.britain » Thu Jan 30, 2014 1:17 pm

Hi folks

My ILR under Tier 1 (General) category is due in May 2014 and I intend to go for the premium service. Actually, I was working in the Middle East when I got Tier 1 visa in 2009. After entering the UK for the first time, I went back to the Middle East for some time. When I landed there, they stamped my passport with the entry stamp in Islamic calendar dates, as they always do. They don't use Gregorian calendar dates for arrival and departure purposes at the airports.

My two questions are as follows:

1. When I apply for ILR, do I have to provide the certified translation for the passport page date, which has the date in Arabic so that the Case Worker can count my qualifying period with ease OR I should write a cover letter stating the Islamic calendar's date's equivalent in Gregorian calendar date?

2. My wife and I, along with our two kids, came to the UK together in 2009 and have been living together since then. At the time of my Tier 1 extension application, I didn't send any co-habitation documents to the HO. Do I have to give the CW any cohabitation documents at the time of ILR in May? Is it mandatory? Though I have all the documents, but wouldn't it make CW's task difficult if we provide him/her with the documents which they haven't even asked for.

I was reading on this Forum the other day that we should keep the paperwork to minimal... ONLY the necessary documents have to be handed in.

I really look forward to your thoughts.

Ali

Cheers
