ILR for children. Is that the only way?

Hi everyone.

We really need some advice please.

Me and my husband, both have ILR now(from long residency). And we have 3 children. They have their 1st FLR which have expired now.

We have been living in the UK for 12-14 years now, and planning to stay here for another 5-10 years, or so..

Going for British citizenship is not an option for any of us..

Our country doesn't allow 2 citizenships, so we won't be getting British citizenship neither for children and nor for ourselves.

Is ILR the only way now? If so, di we have to submit 3 individual applications for them? Most of the documents have 1 original, but application requires original papers for each of them..

We were also thinking about the right if abode for them. Which is cheaper than ILR at first. But then, they have their passports expiring next year, which will result renewing that right if abode as well. And every 5 years after that along with the child passports they have from our country..

Should we go for ILR and get it done for once and all? Or is there any other way for us??

How old are the children?

What 'FLR' visa did they have and what were the start and end dates of their visas?

Hi CR001.

The children were all born in UK, before we received our ILRs.

They are 10, 7 and 5 years old. They were always dependants. And the last viza they had was FLR(M), was given 2.5 years ago and has expired on 11.09.

I was on the same visa but received my ILR this April.

Any advice..?

Right of Abode is not an option for non-British children.

They should apply for ILR when eligible.

With both parents on ILR, IMO, they are eligible for ilr now.
Also since their visas have expired, u should apply within 14 days of expiry of their visa. Either next extension or ilr, depending on what advise u get here.

Yes. Children may apply for SET(F) ASAP. Overstay should not matter.
