ILR for Tire 1 (G) visa

Post by Tire1Questions » Mon Jun 09, 2014 11:53 pm

Hi there,
I am asking this question on behalf of my friend.
He came to this country (from india) on Tire 1 G visa and got his ILR last week. He is now applying for his wife for ILR (as she was tire 1 dependent).
He has two kids. One is 7 years who came to UK along with the parents and has been on tire 1 dependent. another one was born in UK last year only (My friend never applied for indian passport for the new born).

His questions are:
1) As my friend has got his ILR, can the 7 year old child also need to apply for ILR or can the child apply for british passport straight away without requiring to apply for ILR. (please note his wife is still to apply for ILR next week.

2) The other child born last year in UK, can he apply straight to UK passport as he does not have any passport yet?

Seniors please comment I am sure, there should be many people in the similar situation here.

Hi,

Apologies as this is my first query on this forum.

I came to UK on 23rd April 2010 on Tier 2(ICT) visa. The visa stamp date is 8th April 2010.This visa was valid till 01/05/2012.

I then got a Tier 1 general visa valid from 4th august 2011 till 4th august 2013.

I then extended the tier 1 general visa from 1st June 2013 which is valid till 1st June 2016.

Now UK home office have said that they will not allow further extension of Visa from 5th April 2015.
For my continuous stay in UK for 5 years I cannot use my stay under Tier 1 visa. I will have to use my stay under Tier2 ICT and Tier-1 general to make the 5 years continuous stay.

I wanted to check with you if my stay under Tier-2(ICT) visa will be considered or not as
In order for a Tier 2 (ICT) visa holder to qualify for ILR their first Tier 2 (ICT) visa should have been granted under the rules in place before 6 April 2010 and my Tier2 Visa stamp date was 8th April 2010.

Kindly suggest.
