ILR on long residenc with FLR(M) dependents

Post by RizKCB » Mon Apr 10, 2017 7:47 pm

I have to apply for ILR this September on long residence basis. While my 3 dependents will continue until Jan 2022 to get their ILRs on 10 years basis.

Can I claim CB, CTC, WTC and HB after getting ILR?
Will it effect my dependents future applications?

Tax credits must be claimed in JOINT names, child benefit in your name only. Housing benefit can only be awarded at the single person + child rate but joint income will be used for the calculation (as it will for tax credits).

Thanks Casa, so I can apply and it won't effect my dependents future applications as far as the conditions mentioned in your reply are met?

Correct
you can guide me Casa please

I am British citizen, with three kids all British

My wife has been issued visa through appeal, 10 year partner route with no recourse to public funds (30 months visa)

I never claimed HB before, but last year I was made homeless by landlord and I went council for help. They helped me and put me and my family in temp accommodation. At that time my wife visa was under appeal. The council decided to help me as I was on ilr at that time and also told me to claim HB as the rent was high and I would not survive on salary I am getting.

Now checking the benefit letter it states :

Following information we used to calculate your HB

Wife income (n/a) = £0

Couple with person between 18 and pension = 114.85

Young person under 11 * 3 = 200.70

Now there is no mention of name of my wife as all I claim in my name

Do you think there will be problem for my wife extension in future ? What should I ? Is this wrong ? I didn't hide anything from council as I gVe them all docs needed
