Ilr long residence, confusion on 12 months on existing visa

Post by Hafizatif » Thu Jun 05, 2025 12:12 am

Hi I came into UK 2015 april on tier 1 entrepreneur dependent visa with my husband, my 10 year completed on April 2025 , there is no gap in my legal stay. I didn't had visa extension and ILr on same route because Home office didn't replied years on our Applications but finally my solicitor changed the route last year and I got FLR(fp) leave to remain for 2.5 year in august 2024 along with my daughter . Now my question is can I apply on long term residency as I completed lawfully 10 years. But the GOV websites says that , "usually one have to complete at least 12 months on current visa". My current visa was granted in August 2024 and it has not been one year.

If you switched to the family route in August 2024, then you need to wait until August 2025. Also note that the 10 years is counted backwards as you no longer can rely on the historical 10 years.
