ILR Spouse Visa Employment Question

Post by Only Me » Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:48 am

Hello Everyone

My Wife and I are currently filling out the online application for her ILR and I have a question regarding her employment, she has been in her current employment for 5 years this month but she starts with a new employer on Monday the 7th October.

Which employment do we need to put down, this current employment or both including the new employer? As we are using her wages combined with savings to meet the financial requirements under the old rules before April 2024.

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

Thank You

Put whatever employment she has on the day you fill the form. Not futuristic ones, no matter how close it is.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Financial Requirements & Children Together

Post by Only Me » Sun Oct 06, 2024 8:49 pm

Hello Everyone

I've got two questions regarding my Wife's ILR visa application, that I need some help and advice on:

1. What is the current financial requirement for the Spouse ILR Visa 5 year route, as we already have held a FLR Visa we've read it is £18,600 but then other sites are saying its £29,000, as we are using a combination of Salary and Savings.

2. On the ILR application it asks, do we have any children together. I adopted my step daughter officially in the Family Courts in February this year and she now has a British Passport and Adoption Certificate. Do I answer yes to the question of having children together?

Sorry for perhaps the simple questions, but I find some of the questions they ask and info online regarding financial requirements a little confusing, due to the recent changes in April.

Thank you in advance for any help.

1. It is £18,600
2. Answer yes, but note that she is not part of the application

ILR (M)

Post by Only Me » Mon Nov 04, 2024 7:08 pm

Hello Everyone

Just wanted to thank everyone who have helped us with advice and their own personal experience with visa applications, which has helped us very much. Our next step is UK citizenship for my wife.

We had our ILR granted today, even though we paid the extra to have it fast tracked with high priority, we were shocked by the speed it was granted, my wife had her biometrics taken this morning at 10:30am and we had an emailing notifying us that ILR had been granted by 15:25pm.

Application Submitted: 10th October 2024
Supporting Evidence Uploaded: 18th October 2024
Biometric Appointment: 4th November 2024
ILR Granted: 4th November 2023
