Hi everyone,
We are currently filling up forms for Citizenship based on 5 years Tier 2 and then one year ILR. I wanted to clarify a couple of questions and would be grateful for suggestions and advice.
My son is 19 and has learning disbailities. We will be claiming exemption for him for the Life in the UK test and English language requirement. Other than the home office format which the GP has to provide should I include any other documents (Consultant letters, School letters)?
1) For the question "Are there any reasons why you cannot meet the requirements to become a British citizen (for example, you have had too many absences from the UK)? " I hope I am correct in ticking "Yes".
The leading question is "Please provide further details"and I have mentioned here that "XXXX has learning disabilities and will not be able to give the Knowledge of Life in the UK test and will also not be able to give an English language test". It allows 5000 characters and I am wondering if I should elaborate and write anything more about his conditions and diagnoses.
2) For the question "If you do not meet the statutory requirements to become a British citizen, are there any special circumstances why you think the Home Secretary should still grant your application?" I have again clicked "Yes"
The leading question is " Please confirm which requirement(s) you think you fail to meet and what special circumstances should be considered" for which I have mentioned "XXXX has learning disabilities and will not be able to give the Knowledge of Life in the UK test and will also not be able to give an English language test.
3) For the final question "Do you have any other details that you would like to be considered regarding this applicant and their application to be registered as a British Citizen? ", I have answered "No".
Thank you very much in advance for your advice.
