ILR on paper - HELP ....

I came to UK in Aug 2006, got my ILR last year Oct, and my lil bros got ILR on paper because they were in joint passport with my mum but mum got it on her passport. Now we want to go to Dubai for holidays and what i wanted to know is if we need to apply for the lil ones visa and new passports. Or if they can just go along on mums passport.

ILR is only for UK, not for any other country. If citizens of your country require a visa to travel to Dubai, then your lil bro will also need a visa.

Whether he can still travel on your mums passport or requires a passport of his own must be checked from your country's embassy.

I get your point and thanks for your reply, what i wanted to know is if there will be any problem on the return to Uk. I asked the UAE embassy and they are fine with it and they can issue Visa on Mums passport for the lil ones but UK home office are saying different things some says that they will be able to return on the paper visa others say that they will need separate passport.

Every individual (including a new born infant) is issued a passport, so why can't one be applied for the ll one? Makes life easy.

Returning to UK on basis of a ISD (immigration status document, e.g. - ILR on paper) is not a problem. But whether IO will allow him in without a passport, can't say.

They won't issue it till the current one (joint with mum) is not expired after which we can apply for them individually. I rang home office again and asked why didn't they put the visas on joint passport. They said that it is not needed and we can travel with ILR on paper and explain the issue on arrival to IO.

The child's visa cannot be issued in the mom's passport. ISD is a UKBA issued document and the child will not have any problem in re-entering UK for the reason that his immigration status is not affixed in a passport.

The only potential problem is the child not having a passport of his own, not the ILR issued on a paper.

oh i get what you mean will see if the embassy say anything about the Visa being issued to them on same passport. Also I was thinking that if they are going to allow mum they cant really say anything to kids and we got other documents from home office to support as well so should work
