ILR Question – Will One Payslip Showing Salary Increase (from £37.000 Raise → £37,500) Be Enough for SOC 2129?

Post by uzasa » Sun Nov 16, 2025 10:53 am

Hi everyone,
I’m currently on a Skilled Worker visa and I’m planning to apply for ILR around 17 December 2025 (please correct me if I’ve calculated this wrong).
My timeline:
First Skilled Worker visa approved: 14 January 2021
Arrived in the UK: 21 January 2021
My first company closed down, and after about 7 weeks, I received my second Skilled Worker visa on 18 November 2024
Current visa expiry date: 6 February 2026
Job type: SOC code 2129 (Engineering professionals n.e.c.)
Current salary: £37,000 per year, 37.5 hours per week
I understand that for ILR, the salary requirement must meet the correct going rate based on a 37.5-hour week, and my company has confirmed that they will increase my salary by £42 per month starting next month, which will bring my salary up to £37,500
My question is:
Will a single monthly payslip showing the increased salary be enough for the ILR application?
I’m also unsure whether 17 December 2025 is definitely the correct earliest date for me to apply. Any confirmation or correction would be appreciated.
Proof of address question:
I currently live with friends, I pay rent, but all bills are included and none are under my name.
Would bank statements, NHS/GP letters, or car registration documents be acceptable proof of address?
Or should I try to get a utility bill under my name before applying?
Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance!

1. You only need your latest payslip and bank statement and the rules only care about what you are being paid at that point.
Also there is no such requirement as 'proof of address'.

2. The Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes assigned to each role have been updated from the 2010 codes to the 2020 codes, so if you were issued an old SOC 2010, you need to find the the new 2020 SOC. These two should effectively refer to the same role/title.
To do this, use the equivalent 2020 SOC to determine your salary requirement for ILR.

Enter your job title on the CASCOT occupation coding tool to find out the correct SOC 2020.

3. You are correct that you will qualify in December for ILR.
