ILR - Set(M) - Gap between documents

Post by Harry205 » Mon Aug 26, 2013 11:59 pm

Hi all,

I am applying ILR Set(M) next month and while sorting the documents of my wife I found a gap of 9 months between the documents. Few months ago while moving house all the old documents got lost. Below are the questions I need help with.

Q1) We have joint account bank statements which could cover the gap but I was told when we provide the last 6 months bank statements then the older statements of same bank will not be considered to fill the gap as that source(Bank) has already been used. Is this right?

Q2) If the Q1 is right, then does that also mean I don't need to show any cohabitation documents for the last 6 months as the joint account statements are dated and addressed to us.

Q3) If the Q1 is right, then can we show credit card copy statements or online Paypal (eBay) orders or ASDA home delivery order printouts as all of these have name, date and address to fill the gap.

This forum is my last resort, thanks in advance.

You can use the bank statements. Moreover, it's the last 3 months wage slips and corresponding bank statements rather than 6.

Cohabitation proof should be one joint letter or a letter each for roughly each 4 month period over the last 2 years from a total of at least 3 different sources.

Thank you D4109125 for your reply, that was a bit relief. One last question.

I had to go home for 93 days due to some personal circumstances, I am showing Facebook messages screenshots as evidence of communication with my wife. I do not have any other evidence, do you think screenshots will be sufficient?

Provided the absence of the applicant was for a limited period and good reason there shouldn't be an issue.

Hi all,

while filling the Set(M) form I am stuck at the following question:
8.2) Do you or your partner or both pay rent or mortgage for your home?Y/N

My wife (British citizen) gets housing benefit and it gets paid directly to the housing association.

Please advise.

Yes you pay rent, but in the income you will include your housing benefit, make sure that your housing benefit only includes a single person's/lone parent applicable amount. Which country are you native to?

Thank you for the reply.

I understand answer for Q8.2 is Yes but what do you mean by "make sure that your housing benefit only includes a single person's/lone parent applicable amount."

Also answers to the individual public funds in section 8.6 should they be weekly or monthly?

Please elaborate and I am native to the country of bollywood, India :)

Monthly, and just write PCM next to the figure.

What country are you native? The housing benefit should say an amount because you're single/lone parent on the housing benefit statement.

Amber, I'm sorry but I don't have a clue what the above refers to. I have also gone through the recent HB statement which was sent to my wife.

I have a step daughter from my wife's previous relationship and she is British citizen and I am the applicant.

Are you the applicant or your wife, if your wife where is she native to if you are the applicant where are you native to? On the HB statement what does the breakdown say the figures?

I am the applicant and I'm from India, my wife and step daughter were born here and both are British citizens.

HB statement shows we receive £71.64 per week which is exactly same as the rent we pay per week and it gets paid directly to the housing association.
