ILR SET(M) Partner's passport required?

Post by banksie » Tue Nov 24, 2009 11:09 pm

Hi,

My wife is currently in the process of completing the SET(M) application form for ILR. As part of the required documentation it states that I should also send my passport with the application (I'm a UK citizen from birth). However it does state that if I don't have a passport I can send my birth certificate and other supporting documentation instead. Given that I'm due to go on holiday within the next 4 weeks I would prefer not to send my passport and am thinking of sending the birth certificate instead. Would this cause any problems with the application, I mean because I have a passport but chose not to send it?

Thanks

You can send certified copies of you passport along with your original birth certificate, and write an explanation as to why you cant send your passport.
