ILR SET(M) PEO

Post by ding » Mon Feb 22, 2010 1:53 pm

Can any one please help me with this.

i am currently renting a private property(for nearly two years now) but have no tennancy agreement with the owner of the house(who is the a brother to my wife) but all the house hold bills(council tax,gas & elec, water,tv licence etc) are all in our names(me and my wife who is a british citizen)

I think i have got a ton of papers to proof for my ILR(SET M) application due in june ,but its just the TENNANCY AGREEMENT thats missing.IS THIS A PROBLEM. your responses will be really appreciated

Tenancy agreement is just one of several other documents that you may use to as evidence of cohabitation.

So, agree with earlier response that not having a tenancy agreement will not affect your ILR application if you can prove cohabitation through other forms of (prescribed) docuemtary evidence(s).

If still in doubt, you may request a letter from the home owner to certify that you and your spouse have been living together at his/her residence since XYZ date. This would help, if caseworker asks for it while screening your application. Alternatively, how difficult is it to draft a backdated tenancy agreement, given the fact that the landlord is your wife's brother?
