ILR stamp wordings

Just found out something from HO website,
On Residence Permit stamps on passports, HO uses following two different wordings

1. Indefinite Leave to Enter the UK
2. Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK

What is the basic difference between two ? Any Implications of this on the naturalization application ? Comments pls.

Hi vin123

You get ILE when you apply for settlement from outside the UK and ILR when you apply for settlement from within the Uk. It's the same thing.

In addition to what guy said. I have a friend who has dual nationality, and while coming into the country with his overseas passport, he had an ILE stamp put in his passport after he porved that he was a British citizen.
I guess that was more appropriate than giving him an ILR stamp, since he is a British citizen.
