ILR Success at PEO Croydon under HSMP 4 yrs JR ILR

Post by HSMP1+3+1 » Thu Jul 02, 2009 10:39 am

First of all thanks to all who answers/advises junior members questions as per their experiences and knowledge.

I have got my ILR yesterday at PEO Croydon under 4 years JR for me and my 2 dependents. My case was really straight forward. I had submitted following docs.

Application Form
Letter from current employer
P60 for year 2009
P60 for year 2008
P60 for year 2007
P60 for year 2006
P60 for year 2005
Payslips for last 1 year but they took only for last 3 months.
Personal Bank statement
Life in UK Test for myself.
ESOL qualification certificate for spouse.
Absence from UK – only for 50 days in last 5 years.

Case worker was really good/nice and polite. She asked me to give her all the documents whatever I want alongwith the application form. I provided all the above. She checked everything and kept entering the data in computer at front of me. I was sitting at front of her and she didn’t ask me anything because I had given all the docs to her which were necessary to support my application. After almost 20 mins she said my application is OK and I will get my passports back in an hour from counter no. ...... I waited for around 1hr 15 mins after I finished interview with case worker and got the passports with ILR sticker. It took me around 2 hrs all together.

Now I have a question for you guys and will appreciate if someone can answer. I will also try to write in relevant thread.

Q1. I have got only ONE ILR back dated letter addressed to me but my spouse and son’s name is also mentioned on that letter. I was thinking to get 3 separate letters for us. Is it OK to issue letter only to me and not to my dependents separately? Will my spouse and my son don’t need separate letters to support their citizenship applications?

Q2. My ILR letter does not say anything like I will get any refund for last extension. My first entry in UK was after 35 days of HSMP approval letter. Will I get any refund for my last 2nd extension?

Feel free to ask me anything which might help you.

Many thanks.

Congrats HSMP1+3+1!

I will attempt to answer your question to the best of my knowledge below:
A1. I think you can get separate letters for your dependents. You can try write to HO to get a separate letter for each of your wife and son. Yesterday Papafaith was able to get separate ILR letters for his depedents because he requested it in his covering letter. May be if you had done that you would have been issued separate ones. Just try writing them and request for separate ILR letters for you and your dependents.
Q2. My ILR letter does not say anything like I will get any refund for last extension. My first entry in UK was after 35 days of HSMP approval letter. Will I get any refund for my last 2nd extension?
A2. I think you will need to fill a separate form for this if you deserve a refund. You can get the form online fill it and send it back to HO. I don't have the exact location of the form online now.

As now we have ILR back dated letter, so can we apply for Child benefits from back date i.e mid 2008 or the child benefits will start only from yesterday when we got ILR stamp on passports ?

Secondly how and where to apply for Child benefits ?

Please advise.

Thanks

Croydon PEO issues one letter for the whole family. Depdedents names and DOB will be mentioned on the letter. Unless you prove your dependents will need to apply sepeartely (if they have entered later that main applicant) it is unlikely they are going to issue separate letter for each dependent.

Hope this helps.
