ILR Success at Sheffield

Thank you very much for the advise by moderators John, Casa and Sushdmehta and other members.

I am in 5 year workpermit with same employer.
My self, wife and two children have been granted ILR at Sheffield office on Thursday.

I have attached the following documents.

1. Passports
2. Employer letter
3. Work permit
4. P60 - 5 years
5. Salary slips -12 months - online print with certification
6. Bank statement - 10 months
7. Marriage certificate
8. Birth certificate for my UK born daughter.
9 Co-habitation documents

I got appointment at 10.30. I reached there at 9.00.

After security check I was waiting till 10. The reception opened at 10 only and I have been given token number. I was called by one of the window. The lady asked me my application, evidence documents and passport. She had a quick look on my application and she did not look anything the documents. she put everything in a folder and told me to wait for payment. I asked the lady I have photocopies and she told case worker will ask for it.

Then I went to the cash counter for payment and paid 3375. The lady in cash counter was very kind and told me she will hand over my folder to my case worker.

Case worked did not call me till 11.00 and was bit nervous. At 11.05 case worker called me and told me he was processing my application and it will take 30 minutes. I asked the case worker I have the photocopies. He smiled and told me just I have photocopied.

Then only I realized for the delay, because I have attached about 50 documents for cohabitation.
Within 10 minutes he called me and told my family was granted ILR and passports will be ready within 10 to 15 minutes.
Within 10 minutes my passport was ready at reception counter and collected.

Sheffield office is small one and I could not hear properly what the staff is telling, because there is a glass barrier between me and the staff as in the bank cash counter. The counters are close and they are talking in mic. so there is lot of disturbance from nearest counters.
Be careful when you collating documents. After payment it goes to case worker straightaway and they started the process before see you. I believe the case worker is calling you just before the checking our details in their system.

I put the application in a single plastic wallet. All original documents in another wallet and cohabitation documents in third wallet.

Congrats on your ILR. Can you please advice as what co-habitation documents did you attached as you mentioned you had around 50 documents?

Hi Ram,

I have attached the documents covering 5 years, but minimum requiref for 2 years only.

Council tax bills, water bills, gas&electricity, voter registration, GP letters, NHS letters my wife's bank statements and DVLA docs.

Only council tax bills and voter registration are joint name. Remaining are individual.

please can any one tell me if parking penalty is criminal conviction.

2nd how money i hav to show for maintenance funds.

I am going to apply for ILR IN NOV2011.
