ILR with expired passport

Hi,

Please I really need urgent advise and would appreciate this.

So, I am due for my ILR- expiry date on current BRP is October 2024. However, my Nigerian passport is already expired in June 2024. The renewal date for a new passport given by the Nigerian High Commision is the 7th of Jan 2025. I have all documents for renewal date and application in my email.

My question is can I go ahead and apply for my ILR using priority service next month with the expired passport with the evidence that renewal date is in January 2025. I have already gone to the Nigerian high commision to try my possible best to get a sooner date.

In light of my situation, can I go ahead and apply explaining my situation.
Please help with your advise, thank you in advance.

Route - is 5yrs FPLE parent route which is due next month but I can apply this month 28days before.

When are you completing your qualifying period (subject to date of initial entry as a parent)?

the applicant has made an application for a replacement document, but the issuing authority was not able to provide it before the application was made

Thank you for your message.
My current BRP expires Oct 24th.
*Had my first 2.5yrs
*Then second 2.5yrs which expires Oct 24th 2024.

Did you initially switch to parent leave while you were in the UK? What’s your immigration history?

My immigration history is that my child is a British citizen. So I got 5yrs FPLE parent route five years ago. The dilemma now is that my Nigerian passort is expired. I have been given a passport renewal date from Nigerian High Commision which is for January 2025. Whilst my ILR after 5yrs FPLE is due Oct 2024.


Thanks for the link you sent. I am in the process of commencing my ILR. Will the inability to renew my passport now be classed as circumstances beyond my control as passport renewal date is for January 2025.

Shall I submit my expired passport and attach evidence of passport renewal date from Nigerian High Commision for Jan 2025.

I would appreciate advise
