ILR with no income

Post by RonBartlet » Mon Oct 25, 2010 7:53 pm

Hi,

I an British and my wife will be applying for ILR in the next few months. My concern is that having only just set up a business we do not yet have any regular income. We own a house with no mortgage, have around 35k in the bank (enough to last until the business gets going) and have never claimed any benefits. Do you think this is sufficient or could the ILR be refused due to the lack of income at the moment.

Thanks.

It's not income that counts, it's ability to maintain yourselves. £35k is a fair whack of maintenance, you shoul d be fine.
I am not, and cannot, offer legal advice to particular people. I can only discuss general areas of immigration law.

People should always consider obtaining professional advice about their own particular circumstances.
