ILR - 5 year not continuously working

Post by padravi » Tue Nov 15, 2011 3:23 pm

hi,

I came to UK in Jan2007 on an HSMP. For work reasons I changed to a work permit (tier 2) in Dec 2008 - I needed my passport to travel on work and could not afford my passport to be away for 6 weeks or so - whereas a Tier 2 visa was available the same day.
I was made redundant in Jan/feb 2009 and changed back to a Tier 1- I applied before the last day of my job, so was never in the country without a legal right to stay.

Will there be any issue in my getting ILR

Further, after being made redundant, i went 7 months without a job. I now have a full time job and have been in that since Oct 2009. Will having been out of a job for 7 months make a difference in giving the ILR. I currently am working full time

Hello Padavi,

As long as you were on tier 1 when you were out of work, it is ok.
Just make sure you met the requirements for income on this recent 12 months.

Good luck
